Patricia LaSalle is a 53-year-old runner, triathlete and mountaineer. She began running in her 20's, triathlon in her 40's (completing IronMan Canada with a 13:45 time at age 49) and began her mountaineering career two years ago. She conquered Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2004 and Mt. Elbrus in Russia just two months ago. Here we talk about what she gets out of mountaineering, how she trains for her adventures, and what she tells herself "when the going gets tough" on the mountain.
