How quickly things change. The excitement of the
Olympic Trials Marathon in New York City gave way to tremendous sadness when word spread that top distance runner Ryan Shay had been pronounced dead after suffering a heart attack on the course.
We had the pleasure of meeting an interviewing Shay in 2006. Here are some of the things Shay shared with us and our impressions of the young elite.
