December 5, 2013
-:--
Chef Biju Thomas, of Skratch Labs and the mastermind behind The Feed Zone Cookbook and Feed Zone Portables, joins the show for a jam-packed special episode on food and fueling! We begin by getting Biju’s story (how he got into cooking, his cycling background, teaming up with Dr. Allen Lim, the founder of Skratch, etc.), and then we get into details about the Feed Zone Cookbook and the recipes found in there, including how the recipes were developed plus great insight and tips from Biju on fueling for athletic performance. Biju also gives tips specifically for triathletes based on his experiences on how they can perfect their fuleing strategies. Lastly, ’tis the season to talk about surviving the holidays, and Biju gives us tips on navigating food at gatherings this season and also some of his favorite holiday dishes to prepare.
Also, an exclusive for our listeners: During the show we mention a handful of recipes found in The Feed Zone Cookbook. We are pleased to offer copies of a few of those right below, with photos. Also, here are links to Biju’s gluten-free stuffing recipe (mentioned on the show); and his holiday fruitcake for athletes recipe.
