SweetBeatLife

June 4, 2014

SweetBeatIconSweetBeatLife is a new and improved clinical-grade app that measures heart rate variability (HRV) to dial in your health and fitness by giving a holistic measure of your stress levels and overall health and well-being. It’s easy to monitor: High HRV is associated with better health and fitness, while low HRV is linked to burnout, fatigue, decrease in performance, etc. Athletes can use HRV to guide training by knowing when to push hard or when it’s time to take an easy recovery day. It can also prevent overtraining, detect conditions such as adrenal fatigue, and more.

“I take my HRV every morning when I wake up to track the ‘state’ of my body, and that helps guide what I’ll do for training and more,” says host Tawnee Prazak, MS, CSCS. “I am now so much better at monitoring my stress, knowing what my ‘stress triggers’ are, and, decreasing stress. As a result, I’ve been able to get the best out of myself — whether in sport, or in my job, or in life — ever since I started using SweetBeatLife.”

HRV readings used to be exclusive to lab settings, but now you can get it easily on your phone or device with SweetBeatLife. In addition to tracking stress, the app also monitors rest/recovery status, heart rate (and resting heart rate), weight, steps, calories burned, and much more.

I’m still waiting for the Android version 🙁

  • Van Dieu says:

I’m just using the standard SweetBeat app on my iPhone – it has been an absolute revelation and one of the “secret weapons” that I rely on to help me in recovery. If I upgrade to SweetBeatLife will it import all my data and history from SweetBeat?

    • Tawnee_Prazak says:

Hi Van Dieu, I asked your question to the folks at SweetBeat, and here's what they said: "We are working on updating SweetBeatLife to allow importing of old SweetBeat sessions. We will be putting a cap on it so users don’t use all of their memory on their phones. This should be updated within the next few weeks." Hope that helps!
