On Friday evening, Ironman World Championships eve, we caught up with elite age grouper, Max Biessmann, 28, who’s racing in Kona for the second time today, Saturday, Oct. 12. We hear about Max’s journey to figuring out Ironman racing after some tough races early on in his career, his race execution at IMAZ where he qualified, how he’s been training this year (with some nitty gritty details), his nutrition and how it’s evolved, and much more. Max is also a PT student and swim coach, and near the end of the show he gives a ton of tips for triathletes on improving your swim. (Take it from us: This guy is good at swimming – he had the fastest amateur swim at IMAZ last year – and has great insight to share on mastering the swim in triathlon.)
